We have been working hard over here…lots going on. We are in the midst of getting all packed up for our annual trip to Palm Desert to visit my parents, family and friends – seriously, I want to live down there (preferably in Redlands), but I will wait patiently until about 65 when we are retired. A yearly trip will suffice for now. Rant over.
I am anxious to see how Liv does on her second airplane ride tomorrow morning – all I know is this girl is spoiled, flying first class for her third flight. It does make it so much more comfortable with a lap infant having the extra room. She did great last year, but she was a baby and now she is a fidgety, rowdy toddler who does not like to sit still for too long. I foresee us walking the aisles quite a bit on the flights. I did end up buying her some small, cheap little toys to keep her occupied and we downloaded an entire season of Micky Mouse Clubhouse and several new apps on the iPad which should help along with numerous snacks for her to enjoy.

The cabinet project is in full swing and we have been working on it for a week and a half at this point. We are finished priming and moving onto cleaning up the nicks with wood putty, sanding and starting the painting, round #1 which we will do when we get back from our trip.

I am so excited to see the kitchen finished! All hardware, fixtures and new bar chairs are ready to go; besides the oil rubbed bronze schoolhouse pendants which I am obsessed with and will order in the next month. They will really lend to the look and feel that I am after. This project (and really every do it yourself-house project) requires a lot of patience. It will be well worth the wait and hard work.
In the meantime we have a week off in the sun in one of my favorite places! Cannot wait for mid-80s, seeing family, pool time, happy hours, shopping, golfing, desert runs and walks, frozen yogurt daily and an entire week spent with my precious little girl! I am so excited for her to be able to play in the nice weather, run around in the grass and get into the pool again.
Sun here we come!

I am so jealous that you’re going to get some sun, and the cabinet project looks like it’s coming along great!
Thanks Sarah
