It has been so nice here this past week and I can’t get enough of the heat and sun. I love it and wish it to never go away. We sure have been enjoying it and spending as much time outside as possible. I felt pretty good this weekend after being sick this past week so I felt thankful to be able to enjoy all things summer this weekend.
House projects have subsided for the meantime, but they are lingering and I am hoping we get motivated again to get moving on some of them. I have my great grandma’s chair that went through the 1906 San Francisco earthquake sitting in the garage that needs to be re-finished and then will go in Liv’s room. We also bought a new dresser for the guest room that needs to be re-finished along with re-doing the guest room to make it look better. Oh and painting the kitchen, just off-white paint to clean it up and we have some rooms upstairs that we want to paint white as well. No need to dwell on the to-do list though, right? We did work on the yard this weekend! Jeff hedged and got things looking nice while I finished up some weeding and cleaned off the patio and front walk-way. It felt good to really get it summer ready.
We went on some nice leisurely family runs in the mornings, some nice walks and a stop at the playground this weekend. Saturday we set up the little kiddie pool and the sprinkler and let Livie go wild. She loved it – I can honestly say that I think this child had one of the most fun weekends. She had a ball with mom and dad.
We also ventured to Jamba Juice and Livie got to try her first smoothie and I think there will be many more Jamba trips this summer. Girl sucked it all down. We got her a Strawberries Gone Bananas, yum!
It was great not having any real plans besides celebrating Aunt Jamie’s birthday Sunday evening. It was such a nice Sunday evening relaxing in Jeff’s parent’s backyard and watching Livie run around entertaining us and celebrate Jamie’s birthday! A delicious dinner and nice family time was just what we needed. Happy Birthday Auntie Jamie!
Now we are happy to be finished up with our short work week and getting ready for the 4th and the long weekend. We are heading to Whidbey for the 4th this year and are pretty excited. Jeff’s former CFO of his company has a house on the water and invited us to their party – who could turn that down?! They are such wonderful people and almost feel like we have known them forever. We are really looking forward to a day on the island; spend time at Langley, a kid’s parade and then a day on the water with good friends. Friday we are heading down to my parent’s house to spend some time with them at their house, take Livie to a beach that I grew up going to and Jeff will be in golf heaven golfing with a family friend. Win-win for everyone
Have a wonderful 4th of July holiday celebrating 237 years of independence!
